Landscapes – Seascapes – Still Life – Watercolour:
Lydia Chan – Lydia started painting in early 2012, after her husband passed away quite suddenly. She said he had a deep belief that she could paint; and this started her interest in exploring this medium. Lydia says that the peaceful serenity she experiences when painting has been very therapeutic for her; helping her through her grief.
In 2016, Lydia began attending the Eastern Suburbs Private Hospital in Randwick as a “patient visitor”. This led to Lydia conducting a successful Art Workshop at the hospital in 2017, as a diversional therapy for in-patients.
Lydia participates in many local Art Shows and has received awards yearly. She is proficient in landscape, seascape and still life and now ventures to paint on water-colour canvas.
